Dana Showcases GWB™ Driveshaft Solutions for Scrap Recycling Equipment

LAS VEGAS, April 16, 2012 —Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) this week will present the company’s line of GWB™ industrial driveshafts at the 2012 Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) Convention and Exhibition, the world’s largest meeting of scrap recyclers.

The scrap recycling industry processes more than 54 million metric tons of ferrous metal on an annual basis with a value exceeding $26 billion, and GWB-branded driveshafts are used in shredding equipment with motors ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 horsepower.  In all, Dana supplies GWB driveshafts with torque capabilities ranging from 2,400 Nm to 15 million Nm for a wide variety of applications in the steel, rail, marine, paper, and recycling industries.

At ISRI 2012, Dana will present the GWB 492.90 driveshaft, which features an improved design for shredder applications. The GWB 492.90 driveshaft provides up to 1,300 KNm (959 Klb.ft.) of torque capacity, a reversing fatigue torque rating of up to 600 KNm (443 Klb.ft.), and a flange diameter of 550 mm. It also offers split-bearing eyes with a toothed bearing cap, a standard Hirth-serrated flange, and an operating angle of up to 15 degrees.
