May 25, 2004

Barcelona, Spain -- May 25, 2004 -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) announced today that it has been selected to supply four different fluid-transfer systems for a future Renault platform.  The total value of the contract is an estimated $60 million.  The announcement was made at the 2004 Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Ingénieurs des Techniques de l'Automobile (FISITA) World Automotive Conference here.

Over the duration of the multi-year agreement, Dana plans to provide fuel-line systems, brake-vacuum lines with integrated return valves, complete windscreen washing-line systems, and sunroof drain-hose systems.

Dana’s facility in Barcelona, Spain, will provide the products for Renault plants in Spain and France, while a Dana facility in Bursa, Turkey, will produce components for Renault in that region of Europe.

“These will be the first Renault vehicles designed using the Renault-Nissan Alliance New Product Quality Performance engineering procedure, and Dana is proud to be a part of this important initiative,” said Dana Chairman and CEO Michael J. Burns.  “This agreement with Renault demonstrates Dana’s global commitment of improving the vehicle performance of our customers.”

“We pride ourselves in being able to offer solutions that meet the specific needs of our customers,” said Mike Laisure, president of Dana’s Automotive Systems Group.  “For example, in support of Renault achieving a five-star rating in the stringent European New Car Assessment Programme crash-testing process, Dana designed the multi-layer plastic fuel lines to specifically avoid kinking and rupturing.”
