Dana Announces Addition of Vice President of Global Engineering for its Traction Products Group

Toledo, Ohio -- Apr 08, 2005 -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) today announced that George Constand has joined the company as vice president of Global Engineering for Dana’s Traction Products group. Mr. Constand will be responsible for all components of traction product and manufacturing engineering, which include: product engineering, product portfolio planning, advanced product engineering, value engineering, and advanced manufacturing process engineering.

George is a proven leader in manufacturing and design engineering operations. He is ideally suited to lead Dana’s traction engineering team, and his appointment will help to provide product and customer focus in the light-vehicle market while helping Dana to realize a differentiated product portfolio.

George joins Dana after a 20-year career at Visteon Corporation and Ford Motor Company. At Visteon, he most recently served as director of chassis driveline engineering and, prior to that position, as director of quality for North America and Asia-Pacific. As Visteon’s top quality leader, George helped implement standardized processes throughout its global manufacturing base.

As a plant manager at Ford, he ran a major axle, driveshaft, and transmission operation in Sterling Heights, Mich. George’s experience also included positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of manufacturing engineering and planning, product design and engineering, program launches, and the development and management of technical centers. In these roles, George became a Six Sigma Champion and an active leader of lean manufacturing techniques and stage-gate development processes. His career at Visteon and Ford included management positions internationally as well, particularly in Europe.

He received bachelor’s degree and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
