Dana Off-Highway Systems Exhibits Range of Axles For the Agriculture Industry at 2004 Agro Technology Fair

Chandigarh , India -- Dec 03, 2004 -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) Off-Highway Systems announced today it will exhibit four-wheel and two-wheel drive front axles designed to accommodate the Indian tractor industry’s requirements at the Agro Technology Fair, Dec. 3-6 in Chandigarh, India. 

Dana Off-Highway Systems’ products are incorporated into a range of agricultural equipment, extending from compact tractors to crop handlers and specialty harvesting machines. Its off-highway operation in Pune, India (Dana India Pvt. Ltd.) was established in 2001 to address regional customer needs and offer technologically advanced products in this market.

“Off-Highway Systems is developing a significant customer base in India,” said Nick Cole, president, Dana Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems Group.  “Establishing an off-highway operation here was necessary to more deeply understand the regional requirements of these customers, and to subsequently maintain a high level of support and service to our customers in India and the surrounding region.”

The Pune facility has capacity to produce 40,000 axles per year, with capabilities to support production steps from axle design to serial production.  

Dana Off-Highway Systems will display a representative line of its Spicer® axles at the Agro Technology Fair booth No. 24-26 in Hall 3, to include:  

Spicer® 730 Steering Axle

The Spicer® 730 steering axle is designed for four-wheel drive standard 100 Hp tractors.

Spicer® 035S Portal Axle

The Spicer® 035S portal axle is specifically engineered for compact, front-wheel drive utility tractors required to accomplish high turning angles and deliver robust performance. 

Spicer® 700 Axles

A selection from this family of axles, designed for standard two-wheel drive tractors, will also be on display.
