Dana Corporation To Exhibit Off-Highway Systems At World's Leading Construction-Equipment Show

Mar 29, 2004

München, Germany -- Mar 29, 2004 -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) today began exhibiting its off-highway technologies at Bauma 2004, one of the world’s largest construction-, mining-, and off-highway-equipment trade shows.  The show runs through April 4.  Located at Hall A4, Stand 316, Dana will display its systems capabilities in axles, transmissions, driveshafts, and electronic controls.

The exhibit will also pay tribute to Dana’s heritage, as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary April 1.  The Dana history dates to 1904, when the company’s founder, Clarence Spicer, began a small universal-joint manufacturing company in the corner of the Potter Printing Press Company in Plainfield, N.J.

“For 100 years, Dana has provided its customers with value-added products and technologies,” said Michael J. Burns, Dana CEO and president.  “And, as the components and systems on display this week at Bauma illustrate, our people are actively extending this heritage into our second century.”

“Dana began humbly,” said Nick Cole, president of Dana’s Heavy Vehicle Technologies and Systems Group.  “From a six-person, one-room enterprise, today’s Dana has evolved into a technology leader offering advancements in mobility to customers around the globe.  Our off-highway customers should be pleased with the technology and systems they find at the show.”

Among the products that Dana will feature at the show are the following:

The Spicer®Powershuttle Transmission Model PSR08 for compact vehicles, including backhoe loaders, telescopic handlers, and tow tractors of up to 120-horsepower;

Complete drivetrain systems for backhoe loaders, front-end loaders, teleboom handlers, and wheeled excavators;
