Dana Corporation Reorganizes Warner Electric Operation For Stronger Customer Focus

    TOLEDO, Ohio, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) today
announced the reorganization of its Warner Electric group into two divisions
that will link Warner Electric sales, service, and manufacturing more closely
to its customers.
    The new divisions are Warner Electric Industrial Products Division and
Warner Electric Motors and Controls Division.
    Warner Electric Industrial Products Division provides a wide variety of
clutches, brakes, and sophisticated electronic clutch/brake controls, ball
bearing screws, and numerous types of linear actuators for positioning and
material moving.
    Warner Electric Motors and Controls Division provides a number of multi-
axis electronic controls, step motors, synchronous motors, variable reluctance
motors, AC and DC motor drives, voltage conditioning and surge suppression
equipment, and lighting controls.
    According to Mike Plumley, group vice president, Industrial Products,
"Being organized as two separate divisions offers us an opportunity to better
focus on the needs of our customers.  The resulting market focus will improve
our customer service, place more emphasis on new product development, and
better position Warner Electric for future growth through existing product
lines and new acquisitions."
    Both Warner Electric divisions offer their automation-oriented products to
a wide variety of original equipment manufacturers and users for a myriad of
applications in the processing equipment, machine tool, business machine,
communication, aircraft, marine, rail, agriculture, construction, mining,
medical, and automotive industries.  All Warner Electric products are
frequently combined into complete systems that provide motion control system
solutions from a single source.
    Close ties with distributor partners will continue to be a hallmark of
Warner Electric growth.  With over 1,100 distributor locations in North
America and Europe, Warner Electric products are applied in plants throughout
the industrial world.

plants located in nine countries throughout North America, Europe, and South
