Dana to Build Frame Plant in Owensboro, Kentucky: Plant Will Supply New Toyota Facility

    READING, Pa., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation's Parish Light
Vehicular Structures Division today announced plans to build a frame
manufacturing facility in Owensboro, Kentucky.
    The plant will initially supply light-truck frames on a just-in-time basis
for Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana, Inc.'s new facility in Princeton,
Indiana, according to Michael Greene, vice president and general manager of
the Parish Division.  Construction is expected to begin in mid 1997 and
production will begin by late 1998.
    The 100,000-square foot building will be located on a 20-acre site in
Owensboro's Mid-America Air Park.
    "The decision to build this new manufacturing facility indicates our
continuing emphasis on meeting our customers' needs in a highly competitive
market," Greene said.  "The Owensboro location is near our customer and has
excellent highway transportation services available.  We are particularly
impressed with the Owensboro community, as well as those people at the state
and local level who have contributed so much in this effort.  We look forward

    The Owensboro facility will be Dana Corporation's seventh truck frame
manufacturing operation in North America, along with Dana affiliate facilities
in Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia.
