Dana Honored with 2002 General Motors Supplier of the Year Award

    TOLEDO, Ohio, April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dana Corporation
(NYSE: DCN) has been recognized by General Motors as a 2002 Supplier of the
Year for its fuel cell technology.  Specifically, Dana's Victor Reinz division
was honored for its innovation in bipolar plates, end plates, and seals, three
components of a fuel cell.

    The award was presented to Dana during award ceremonies on April 12 in
Miami.  This marks the seventh time Dana's Victor Reinz group has received
this prestigious award from General Motors.

with us as we seek to develop new technologies and increase market share,"
said Bo Andersson, vice president, GM Worldwide Purchasing Production Control
& Logistics. "The company's performance and contributions have been critical
in support of GM's fuel cell efforts and to become the industry's low cost

suppliers."

    Dana's fuel-cell development efforts are focused in Fuel-Cell Support
Centers in Canada, the United States, and Germany.  A fourth center will open
in Japan later this year.  Technologies under development include: composite
and metallic bipolar plates with integrated seals, end caps, thermal
management systems, heat exchangers, electronic pumps and valves, and reformer
components.
    The GM Supplier of the Year program began in 1992.  Award winners are
selected by a global team of purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and
logistics executives who base their decisions on total supplier performance in
the areas of quality, service, technology, and price.
