Dana was recognized in the 5th annual Quest for Excellence survey in four
categories: axle components, traction systems, suspension systems, and engine
components. This is the second consecutive year that Dana has received the
award for its axle components and the fifth year that a Dana group has been
recognized.
Recipients of the awards are chosen through a survey that is sent to some
12,000 automotive engineering, design, purchasing, manufacturing, and
management professionals. Participants were asked to rate suppliers based
upon personal experience in the categories of quality, price, delivery and
customer service, and innovation.
In awarding the honors, Andy Cummins, publisher of Automotive Industries,
said, "The results of this survey are not the opinion of Automotive Industries
or any of its staff. We asked our readers to make the selections based on
their own experiences with the individual supplier companies."
"Suppliers who consistently rank high in the five areas of quality, price,
delivery/response, and innovation deserve to rank among the best of the best
and receive the coveted 'Quest for Excellence' award," he added.
Dana Chairman and CEO Joe Magliochetti said, "We are particularly proud of
each of the operations that have earned this prestigious award. This is quite
an honor, and it is especially gratifying because it was our customers who
ranked us best in class among our peers. As Dana continues its
transformation, we will continue to create value for our OEM customers and our
shareholders. Our ability to offer complete vehicle drivetrain systems is
just one way we are allowing our customers to recognize improved quality,
reduced cost, and more consistent performance."
Dana Corporation is a global leader in the design, engineering, and
