"This new business reflects our continuing commitment to provide our customers with a unique combination of world-class technologies that meet and exceed the expectations of the ultimate consumer." GM's new full-size vans feature upgraded powertrains and enhanced safety and reliability features specifically designed for commercial users. The new vehicles will also feature the following Dana technologies: * Full-float single and dual rear wheel axles featuring improved NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance and enhanced durability. The axles, which will be incorporated in GM's heavy-duty 3500-series vans, include advanced gear designs to meet the requirements of this demanding application. * An all-new, stiffer boxed frame that will deliver enhanced torsional rigidity and a solid foundation for ride and cargo-carrying improvements. The new frames accommodate a wide range of powertrain, drive axle, and suspension characteristics, contributing to improved braking performance, structural durability, and energy management. * Spicer Lite(TM) Aluminum 1350/1410 series driveshafts. These recyclable driveshafts incorporate triple-lip sealed universal joints and are maintenance-free for long life. The driveshaft also features a uniquely designed sound damper that aids in reducing vehicle noise. "This program represents yet another important step in growing our light vehicle business with General Motors," said Bill Carroll, President of Dana's Automotive Systems Group. "Our ability to provide advanced torque and traction management solutions was critical to winning this business." "As we continue to move forward, we will focus on gaining additional business that not only affords us the opportunity to supply key components, but also the responsibility to assemble, integrate, and deliver complete chassis directly to our customers' front door."
