Dana's Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division Earns Michigan Quality LEADERSHIP Award

              Company's Wix Filtration Division Named Runner-Up

    TOLEDO, Ohio, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN)
announced today that its Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division has received the
2000 Michigan Quality Leadership Award (MQLA).  Modeled after the Malcolm
Baldrige National Quality Award, the MQLA is the state's highest honor for
outstanding quality and customer service.

    Dana's Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division supplies steer and drive
axles, brakes, wheel ends, and tire pressure management systems for the
world's heavy- and medium-duty commercial truck and bus manufacturers.  With
its division office located in Kalamazoo, Mich., Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake
has nine North American facilities and four international facilities. The
division received the Michigan Quality Council's (MQC) Navigator Award in
1999.

    The division will be recognized at the seventh annual Michigan Quality
Leadership Award banquet at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids,
Mich., on Nov. 16.
    Also recognized for outstanding quality was Dana's Wix Filtration Products
facility in Ferndale, Mich., which was named to the MQC Honor Roll.  The Honor
Roll recognizes organizations that have made significant progress in improving
quality and operations performance.
    The Wix facility designs and manufactures automotive, agricultural,
industrial fuel, and emission filters found in applications such as passenger
cars and light trucks.  The facility also received the MQC's Navigator Award
in 1999.
    Dana's leasing subsidiary, Dana Commercial Credit Corp., received the MQLA
in 1995, the year before it received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality
Award.
    The Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division is the ninth Dana operation to
win its state's highest quality award this year.  In fact, just yesterday Dana
announced that its Structural Products facility in Elizabethtown, Ky., had
earned the Kentucky Governor's Gold Quality Award.  In all, Dana facilities
have also been honored by the states of Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan,
North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.  Fifteen Dana facilities were so
recognized in all of 1999.
