Six Dana Corporation Facilities Earn DaimlerChrysler Gold Award for Achieving Superior Quality, Customer Service

    TOLEDO, Ohio, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN)
announced today that six of its manufacturing facilities have been recognized
by DaimlerChrysler Corporation as 1999 Gold Award winners for achieving
superior quality and outstanding supplier performance.

    The DaimlerChrysler Gold Award recognizes suppliers that demonstrate
exceptional performance in customer service, quality, competitive pricing,
delivery, minority sourcing, and DaimlerChrysler's SCORE program for cost
reduction.
    DaimlerChrysler recognized the following Dana operations:

    * The Victor Reinz Division's Milwaukee, Wisc., and Danville, Ky., plants
      earned Gold Award status.  These facilities, which are part of Dana's
      Engine Systems Group, supply DaimlerChrysler with advanced sealing
      technology for under-the-hood sealing such as cylinder head gaskets,
      intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, front covers, water pumps, and
      other secondary gaskets.

    * The Plumley Hose Division's Crenshaw, Miss., plant is a two-time Gold
      Award winner.  This facility, which is part of the Dana Fluid Systems
      Group, supplies DaimlerChrysler with hose and hose assemblies.

    * Other Fluid Systems Group facilities honored include the Long
      Manufacturing plants in Oakville, Ontario, and Rochester Hills, Mich.,
      which supply DaimlerChrysler with oil coolers, and the EPIC Technical
      Group facility in Archbold, Ohio, which supplies fabricated tube and
      hose assemblies.
