Dana's Spicer Light Axle Group Earns Second Consecutive Circle of Excellence Minority Supply Award

      Award Recognizes Dana's Leadership in Developing Minority Supplier
                                 Partnerships

    FORT WAYNE, Ind., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year,
the Spicer Light Axle Group of Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) has earned the
Circle of Excellence Award presented by the Indiana Regional Minority Supplier
Development Council (IRMSDC).  The award, which is sponsored by the National
Minority Supplier Development Council, recognizes the axle group's
"outstanding efforts and dedication toward the advancement of minority
enterprises."
    Specifically, Dana's Spicer Light Axle Group was recognized by the IRMSDC
as Northern Indiana's top company in the manufacturing category for purchasing
materials and services from minority suppliers.
    Spicer Light Axle Group Director of Procurement & Supply Jim Hensel said,

    Spicer Light Axle Group facilities have made significant progress in
purchases from minority suppliers, advancing from $2.1 million in minority
purchases in 1996 to $18.25 million in 1999.  The Group expects to make more
than $25 million in purchases from minority suppliers this year.
