To achieve the ISO 14001 certification, Glacier Vandervell utilized an
Environmental Management System (EMS), which helped determine the
effectiveness of procedures and conformance to environmental policy. The EMS
employed management reviews, recycling programs, employee training and
awareness programs, and a communication campaign to ensure the success of the
environmental program.
"We are pleased that our entire Glacier Vandervell workforce has been
trained and involved in our environmental efforts," said Daniel Moody, vice
president of engine products for Dana's Engine Systems Group. "Environmental
protection has always been an extremely important issue at Dana, and we are
proud to achieve this distinction."
Glacier Vandervell's entire environmental system was audited and certified
by Smithers Quality Assessments Inc. They are fully accredited by the
Registrar Accreditation Board.
