Dana Expands Brazilian Site to House Growing Fluid Systems Operation

DIADEMA, Sao Paulo, Brazil, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) announced today it has expanded its operations in Diadema, Sao Paulo, Brazil, to include a state-of-the-art fluid systems manufacturing facility. Dana has invested more than $2 million in moving its Brazilian Fluid Systems Products Division to the newly renovated facility from its previous location in Ribeirao Pires, Brazil. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990903/DANA ) The refurbished building is located on the same site as Dana Brazil's Nakata steering and suspension operation, and was previously used by Nakata for warehouse space. At its new site, the Fluid System Products Division will manufacture fuel rails, throttle bodies, oil pumps, water pumps, as well as hoses and tubes for air conditioning systems and brake systems and hydraulics for a variety of OEM customers. In addition, the facility will produce carburetors and mechanical fuel pumps for the aftermarket. Features of the updated building include an energy-generating station, a pump production line with an elevated automation index, and some of the world's most modern manufacturing equipment. Dana moved approximately 800 people to the renovated building, which has 64,000 sq. feet (7,800 sq. meters) of manufacturing space. In addition to the manufacturing space, Dana is constructing a nearby administration building with 6,500 sq. feet (600 sq. meters).
