Dana Obtains Filter Business With Canada's Largest Distributor

TOLEDO, Ohio, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) will become the sole supplier of automotive filters to Canada's leading marketer of motor vehicle replacement parts and accessories later this year, according to Tom Saxton, senior vice president of the Service Parts Division of Dana Canada Inc. UAP Inc., Canada's leading distributor to the automotive aftermarket with annual sales in excess of CN$700 million, will begin stocking Dana Filtration Products Division's filters in November and December, Saxton said. UAP has 13 distribution centers in Canada, supplying over 600 wholesalers and 4,000 dealers. All will begin carrying Dana-produced air, oil and fuel filters late in the year. "We are honored to have been selected to supply this important product line to UAP," Saxton said. "It speaks well for the reputation of our filtration products, our service and the Dana Canada people who supply both. The newly won business from UAP supports Dana's strategic goals of obtaining 50 percent of its business from distribution markets and 50 percent from sales outside the U.S." The bulk of the filters sold to UAP will be manufactured at Dana Canada's plants in Cambridge and Pickering, Ontario, Saxton added. Product will also come from Dana's Wix Filtration Products Division in the U.S. Dana's 23 facilities in Canada manufacture and distribute a wide variety of vehicular and industrial components and employ 2,500 people. Dana Canada was founded in 1922 by C.B. Hayes as Hayes Wheel Company of Canada Ltd. Charles Dana first bought a small share of the company in 1929.
