Enterprise Asset Management Software, Developed in Java, Tracks and Manages Information Technology Assets SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- DCC Technology Management Group, a business unit of Dana Commercial Credit Corporation (DCC), announced today the release of a new version of Wyzdom(R), a proprietary asset management software program designed to track and manage assets throughout the product lifecycle, from requisition through disposal. Dana Commercial Credit Corporation, headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, is one of North America's leading commercial leasing companies and an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN). Patricia Benson, managing director of DCC's San Francisco-based Technology Management Group that developed the new Wyzdom software, made the announcement. Wyzdom will be offered to customers as a stand-alone asset management product as well as through DCC ,s product groups that offer Information Technology (IT) equipment leasing. "We developed Wyzdom to fill a very specific need for corporations, that of actively overseeing and managing desktop assets," Benson said. "Our goal is to provide an effective enterprise solution that offers our customers a method of streamlining costs of desktop assets, and actually realizing a return on their IT investments." A web-based solution developed in 100% Java, Wyzdom enables corporations to manage desktop assets by integrating information on the physical, financial and contractual aspects of each IT asset. Wyzdom maintains and updates the history of each piece of equipment to control usage cost during its entire life cycle. Wyzdom manages data including equipment lease termination and renewal dates, manufacturer warranties, service agreements, maintenance logs, software packages and licenses, component upgrades and tax payment schedules. Authorized users have the ability to analyze, report and act on IT asset performance, return on investment and total cost of ownership. In creating software and services that can be tailored to each customer, DCC has developed strategic partnerships with industry leaders that provide supporting services. These include Tally Systems, Tangram Enterprise Solutions and MicroAge, Inc. Prior to development of this version of Wyzdom, DCC conducted a survey of Fortune 1000 companies, soliciting opinions on ideal features and benefits in an enterprise management software package. Using this information and feedback from current customers, the company created a system that responds directly to the needs of corporate executives charged with managing IT assets. Wyzdom is the latest offering in DCC's comprehensive, consultive approach to enterprise management. In addition, DCC offers customers its "Strategic Asset Management Analysis(TM)," used to design an asset management infrastructure. A consulting service independent from tool purchase, the "Strategic Asset Management Analysis" customizes asset management solutions to individual companies by conducting an on-site assessment of corporate infrastructure, current processes and viable savings opportunities. The service utilizes process mapping to evaluate customers' IT department practices and to identify priority needs. With this information, DCC makes recommendations for an action plan to create the asset management infrastructure yielding the maximum return on investment. Wyzdom is platform- and database-independent. Wyzdom system requirements are a 20 MB hard disk, 24MB minimum memory, 32MB recommended memory, 120 MHz Pentium(R) processor or higher. Dana Commercial Credit provides leasing and financing services to a broad range of business customers in selected markets.
