Dana Opens German Office for Automotive Components

    TOLEDO, Ohio, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) today
announced that it has opened an office in Neu-Ulm, Germany, to support the
needs of its customers in the region.
    The move is the first in what will be a series of worldwide business-
development efforts for Dana Corporation and is the result of the company's
recent reorganization into more market- and customer-focused global strategic
business units.
    The office will house customer business development managers, who will
serve as liaisons between the customer and Dana's Automotive Components Group
in areas such as engineering, manufacturing, sales, and service.
    Bill Carroll, president of the Automotive Components Group, said, "As the
needs of our customers change, we look at being established with them in their
regions as another way to be more responsive to them.  Under this new
arrangement, our customers will now have one primary Dana contact who is
dedicated to helping them grow their business."
    The managers will work to strengthen customer awareness of the company's
automotive products -- axles, constant-velocity joints and driveshafts, and
structural components and frames -- as well as Dana's ability to engineer and
assemble components for customer-defined module and system requirements.
    Additionally, the managers will help Dana to develop a better
understanding of its customers' needs by monitoring their global growth
strategies, vehicle production plans, and advanced platform development.  In
fact, the facility will provide eventual support for a wide range of customer
engineering needs.
    Dana's Automotive Components Group encompasses the company's global light
axle, driveshaft, and structural components businesses, as well as its
suspension and light modular systems operations.  The group has 91 facilities
in 22 countries.
