Dana's Spicer Light Axle Group Earns Circle of Excellence Award for Leadership in Developing Minority Supplier Partnerships

    FORT WAYNE, Ind., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Spicer Light Axle Group of
Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) has earned the 1999 Circle of Excellence Award
presented by the Indiana Regional Minority Supplier Development Council
(IRMSDC).  The award, which is sponsored by the National Minority Supplier
Development Council, recognizes the axle group's "outstanding efforts and
dedication toward the advancement of minority enterprises."
    During 1998, the Spicer Light Axle Group was recognized on five occasions
by the IRMSDC as Northern Indiana's top corporation for purchasing materials
and services from minority suppliers.
    Spicer Light Axle Group Director of Procurement Jim Hensel said, "Spicer

have worked with each of our eight manufacturing and assembly facilities to

    Spicer Light Axle Group facilities have made significant progress in
purchases from minority suppliers, advancing from $2.1 million in minority
purchases in 1996 to $10.2 million in 1998.  The Group is expected to make
more than $15 million in purchases from minority suppliers in 1999.
