Feb 17, 1999

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation's (NYSE: DCN)
Russellville, Ark., camshaft facility has received the Quality Achievement
Award from Gov. Mike Huckabee as part of the Arkansas Quality Award (AQA)
program.
The AQA program examines companies in the state using the same criteria as
the national Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award program. The examination of the
Dana plant was completed in October, 1998.
The Russellville facility produces high performance, heavy-duty hardened
steel camshafts. The 10-year-old plant utilizes advanced technologies for cam
grinding and heat treatment. It has earned ISO 9002 and QS-9000
certification.
"We have broken through tremendous barriers at our facility, including the
rapid growth of our market, and our goal is to continuously improve in the AQA
program," said Plant Manager Greg Dillman. "This is the first year for our
facility to submit an application to the AQA. The process is intensive on the
continuous ability to maintain and proactively manage our business in relation
to human resource, leadership, customer satisfaction, community involvement,
strategy, and many other items. The AQA involvement was definitely a team
project."
"The people of Dana have long stood for the core values that an award
program such as the AQA demands," said Chuck Heine, president of the Dana
Engine Systems Group. "We're proud of the achievement of our people in
Russellville. This award is another example of how Dana is continuously
striving to improve the value we bring to our customers."
