Dana Heavy Truck Group's Lugoff Heavy Systems Assembly Facility Named South Carolina Manufacturer of the Year

LUGOFF, S.C., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN) announced today that its Heavy Truck Group's Lugoff Spicer Heavy Systems Assembly Division facility was named South Carolina Chamber of Commerce Manufacturer of the Year. The facility won in the medium-sized plant category, which includes plants with 200-500 employees. The award recognizes South Carolina companies that demonstrate world-class standards in each of five categories: quality improvement of products, quality of life for employees, environmental stewardship, community and professional involvement, and community partnerships. Dana's Lugoff facility was ranked in the top 25 finalists in IndustryWeek's "Best Plants in North America" competition in both 1998 and 1999. A part of Dana's Heavy Truck Group, the Lugoff Spicer Heavy Systems Assembly Division facility assembles Class-8 truck chassis and supplies components to Mack Trucks as well as Maxim Trucks. The facility was recently contracted to supply completed chassis to Western Star Trucks. Dana's Heavy Truck Group engineers and produces strategic components, modules, and systems for the world's on-highway medium- and heavy-truck manufacturers.
