Dana Introduces New Axle Lubrication Specification to Lower Operating Costs in Vocational Applications

Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 24, 2007 – To ensure maximum reliability and performance of Spicer® axle systems in demanding vocational applications, Dana Corporation’s Commercial Vehicle Systems group has developed a new lubrication specification for high-performance, extended-drain lubrication fluids. The new specification (SHAES 429 Rev. A) covers full-and semi-synthetic fluids in numerous viscosities, each designed to suit a broad range of vocational applications and geographic regions.
According to Leo Wenstrup, senior product manager - drive axles for Dana, all current Roadranger® brand fluids, as well as fluids from other quality suppliers to the trucking industry, are approved to meet the requirements of the new specification.
