Dana Announces New Authorized SpicerĀ® Service Centers to Support Off-Highway Customers in Peru, United States

Apr 20, 2010

MUNICH, GERMANY.  Apr. 19, 2010 – At Bauma 2010 today, Dana Holding Corporation announced the addition of Maestranza Diesel in Peru and North Atlantic Power in the United States to the company’s network of Authorized Spicer® Service Centers for off-highway customers.

With the inclusion of these two centers, Dana now has 66 Authorized Spicer Service Centers in 54 countries on six continents to supply genuine Spicer parts and factory-authorized service to the off-highway industry.

“Authorized Spicer Service Centers must pass a rigorous screening process to prove they can supply the advanced training, comprehensive inventory, diagnostic capabilities, and technical services that customers need to maximize the productivity of their off-highway equipment,” said Chris Scheel, global sales director of off-highway parts for Dana.  “Maestranza Diesel and North Atlantic Power have exceeded our highest standards, and the addition of these new service centers strengthens the reputation and global coverage of our service network.”

For more than a decade, Maestranza Diesel has served as the exclusive Authorized Spicer Service Center in Chile, and the company now holds the same distinction in neighboring Peru.  Maestranza Diesel specializes in repair and maintenance services for off-highway drivetrain components, including transmissions, converters, and driveshafts.

“We are continuously looking for ways to enhance our services to customers, and our commitment to improvement is represented by our ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications,” said Alfredo Arce Guerra, manager of Maestranza Diesel. “Our close working relationship with Dana, which now extends to our Authorized Spicer Service Center in Peru, is further evidence of our commitment to enhance our processes, services, and client focus.”

Based in Exeter, New Hampshire, North Atlantic Power is the third regional facility of Great Lakes Power Companies to earn the designation as an Authorized Spicer Service Center.  North Atlantic Power provides extensive repair, maintenance, rebuilt exchange, and remanufacturing services.

“Over the past 10 years, the Great Lakes Power Companies have proven our expertise in servicing the wide range of Spicer drivetrain products used in the off-highway market,” said Sam Profio, vice president of North Atlantic Power.  “As an Authorized Spicer Service Center, North Atlantic Power offers our customers the assurance that we supply genuine Spicer replacement parts and the high-caliber support required by a trusted brand known for quality and reliability.”

Dana supplies single-source convenience and complete replacement parts and services worldwide for all brands of off-highway drivetrain products under the Spicer® brand umbrella, including Clark™, Clark-Hurth™, Sige™, Comaxle™, Kirkstall™, Spicer® GWB™, Spicer® Italcardano™, and Spicer® Ayra-Cardan™.

Dana subjects genuine Spicer service parts to superior metallurgy, hobbed and shaved gearing, and precision heat-treating and shot peening to ensure consistent quality and exceptional durability.  Testing has shown that certain genuine Spicer OE products can last up to ten times longer than non-genuine replacement parts.

Technicians are available with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to support customers in a variety of ways—from performing a field diagnosis to conducting new product training at a customer facility.
